| | Douglas B. Thomas, City Manager Doug officially took office December 1, 2003. Before this position he served as City Manager for the City of Alma, Michigan for over 14 years. Prior to appointment in Alma, he represented the City of Grand Haven, Michigan as Assistant City Manager, (1986-1989) and as Administrative Assistant to the City Manager (1984-1985). He also has held local government posts with the City of Rockville, Maryland and the Town of Landover Hills, Maryland.
His academic credentials include attainment of a Master's of Public Administration from the American University, Washington, D.C. in 1983 with a concentration in Urban Affairs, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from Bowling Green State University, Ohio in 1981. |

| | | Tony Delgado, Deputy City Manager Tony began work with the City of Lakeland in January 1997 as Assistant Director for The Lakeland Center. He became Assistant City Manager in November 2000. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Parks & Community/Commercial Recreation from Southern Illinois University. Tony is active in Downtown Kiwanis and is a graduate of Leadership Lakeland XVIII. |

| | | Stanley Hawthorne, Assistant City Manager Stanley Hawthorne was hired as the Assistant to the City Manager on January 18, 2005 and currently serves as Assistant City Manager. He started his local government career in Saginaw, Michigan where he worked for seven years, advancing to Assistant to City Manager. In 1992, he accepted the position as Budget Director for Hollywood, Florida. Other positions that he held included Assistant City Manager and Director of Finance for Tamarac, Florida. He was most recently the General Manager for the Sun ‘n Lake of Sebring Improvement District.
He received his undergraduate degree at Troy State University in Alabama and he earned his Master of Arts degree in Public Administration from the University of Virginia.
