ROAD CONSTRUCTION NOTICE:
Hallam Drive Refsurfacing Project


Contractors working for the City of Lakeland will begin Milling and Resurfacing Hallam Dr from Cleveland Heights to Lakeland Highlands Rd on July 21st. Roads will remain open but delays and detours are expected. The work is expected to take 2 weeks to complete.

The Month of July is Lakes Appreciation Month!  

The North American Lakes Management Society (NALMS) has designated July as Lakes Appreciation Month 
to recognize the importance of lakes for drinking water, energy production, food production, and for aesthetic and recreational value.  The City of Lakeland’s Lakes & Stormwater division is asking citizens to participate in a lake cleanup on one (or more) Friday(s) in July as part of Lakes Appreciation Month. 

Cleanups will be held from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
July 11 at Lake Hollingsworth,
July 18 at Lake Morton
July 25 at Lake Wire.

The Lakeland Police Department will conduct an active shooter awareness seminar for Lakeland businesses, schools and organizations on August 26 at 10 a.m. 

Learn how you can best prepare, prevent and react to an active shooter scenario. This seminar is FREE, but pre-registration is required. Seminar participants must have a primary location within Lakeland city limits.

There is no charge to attend, but participants must register using the "register" link below. Photo ID and employment credentials (business card, employee badge) will be required at check-in, beginning at 9 a.m.

On Tuesday, June 24th City Manager Doug Thomas filed official documents with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement stating that former Lakeland Police Chief Lisa Womack left voluntarily in good standing.
