2010 Season FAQ's
How do I register for a softball team?
Teams can register online at www.lakelandathletics.net . Click on the “SPORTS PROGRAMS“ tab and select the appropriate league. You will then be prompted to sign in or create a user account.
What if I forget my username and password?
If you forget your user name or password you can you can do the following:
• User Name: Call the Athletic Office (863.834.3283) and we will assist you.
• Password: Click on the “MANAGERS LOGIN” tab on www.lakelandathletics.net and select “forgot password.” Then enter your username and a password will be sent to the email address on file.
How do I update my roster?
Managers may update their roster by logging in to their account at www.lakelandathletics.net and select “roster.” OR you may update by filling out a blank roster at the fields.
How can I change my team name?
Team names can be changed by contacting the Athletic Office at 863.834-3283
How many players per team?
At this time, there is no limit to the number of players on each team. HOWEVER, you must have at least 8 people on your roster when registering.
How old do I have to be to play?
COL Athletic Leagues are open to players 18 years of age and older.
Can a woman play on my team if it’s not a coed league?
NO
If my team is coed, how many women and how many men must be on the team?
Coed teams must have 5 males and 5 females.
• 2 females and 2 males in the outfield, 2 males and 2 females in the infield and the pitcher and catcher have to be of the opposite sex.
What are the league fees?
Spring Season: $420.00 for 10 games
Summer Season: $370.00 for 8 games
*add $20.00 if you are a new team that did not play in the Spring
Fall Season: $400.00 for 10 games
*add $20.00 if you are a new team that did not play in the Spring or Summer
*We are sanctioned by ASA and the association fee for new teams per year is $20.00*
How long is the season?
The Spring Season is 10 games long, taking place from February – April.
The Summer Season is 8 games long, taking place from May – August.
The Fall Season is 10 games long, taking place from September – December.
What do the league fees cover?
League Fees cover softballs, games, officials, and field maintenance.
Are uniforms included in the cost?
Uniforms are not included in the league fees.
When do we get our softballs and how many do we get?
Softballs are distributed during the first night of play. You will receive 10 softballs for a 10 game season and 8 softballs for an 8 game season.
How long do the games last? Is there a time limit or run rule?
Games played at 6:20pm, 7:20pm or 8:20pm are 65 minutes long. Games played at 7:00pm or 8:15pm are 75 minutes long.
When do we get our schedules?
All schedules are made public the Friday before the league starts. They can be found at www.lakelandathletics.net by clicking on the word ATHLETICS on the left navigation panel.
How do I know if my bat is legal or illegal?

What kind of shoes do we need to wear?
Players may wear tennis shoes or cleats (no metal cleats are allowed)
Can I rent a field to practice? How much is it?
Fields may be rented at the discretion of the Parks Office and Athletic Office 863.834.3283. Please call for available times. Fields rented Monday through Thursday are $26.75 for a two hour period.
What happens if a game is cancelled?
If games are cancelled due to weather or field conditions, schedules will be updated online at www.lakelandathletics.net.
What is the procedure for a protest?
All protests must be done by 5:00pm the day following the game. Protests must be in writing along with a $20.00 fee.
