AFFORDABLE HOUSING ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Reviews established policies and procedures, ordinances, development regulations, and adopted comprehensive housing plan for the City.

AFFORDABLE HOUSING REVIEW COMMITTEE
Accepts applications for incentives, reviewing applications and proposed development, and approving or denying all or a portion of the requested incentives.

AIRPORT ADVISORY BOARD
Enhances the oversight and operation of Lakeland Linder Regional Airport and provides input regarding operations, capital projects, planning and strategic business development opportunities.
Meeting: Quarterly – Time & day to be determined.

BEAUTIFICATION BOARD
Advises beautification and preservation of natural beauty within the City of Lakeland.
Meeting: 2nd Monday of each month at 4:00 p.m.,except June, July, and August - Parks & Recreation Conf. Rm.

CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE
Provides citizen participation in the development and implementation of a variety of community improvement programs, including the recommendation of annual grant funding awards to various public service agencies.
Meeting: Quarterly - 1st Monday of the month at 6:00 p.m. Commission Conference Room

CIVIL SERVICE & EMPLOYEES’ PENSION BOARD
Oversees procedures for employment, promotion and discharge of employees under the Civil Service provisions of the City Charter. Oversees the administration and investments of the employees’pension fund.
Meeting: 4th Tuesday: Jan., Feb., April, May, July, Aug, Oct. and Nov. at 8:30 a.m. – Civil Service Department

CODE ENFORCEMENT BOARD
Enforces certain codes and ordinances; makes findings of fact; issues orders to bring violations into compliance; imposes fines for continued and repeat violations.
Meeting: 4th Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. – Commission Chamber

DIXIELAND COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
Implements the Dixieland CRA Redevelopment Plan established and authorized by the City Commission.
Meeting: 3rd Tuesday of the month at 4:00 p.m. City Commission Conference Room

ENTERPRISE ZONE DEVELOPMENT AGENCY
Implements the Enterprise Zone Strategic Plan established by the Florida Office of Tourism Trade and Economic Development and authorized by the City Commission.
Meeting: Quarterly (February, May, August, November)

FIREMEN PENSION TRUST - BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Invests funds in Firefighters' Pension Trusts and administer the plan; shall meet at least quarterly each year.
Meeting: 2nd Wednesday, Feb, May, Aug, Nov – Lakeland Fire Dept.

HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD
Promotes the preservation program for historic structures and sites, and administers design guidelines in the City’s seven historic districts.
Meeting: 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:30 a.m. Community Development Conference Room

HOUSING AUTHORITY BOARD
Operates and manages the low-rent housing projects in Lakeland.
Meeting: 2nd Monday each month - Lakeland Housing Authority

MIDTOWN COMMUNITY REDEVELOPMENT
Implements the MidTown CRA Redevelopment Plan established and authorized by the City Commission.

NUISANCE ABATEMENT BOARD
Hears complaints relating to public nuisances that threaten the health,
safety and welfare of the citizens of the City.

PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD
Oversees City’s Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations. Makes recommendations on rezoning requests.

POLICE OFFICERS RETIREMENT FUND
Invests funds in Police Officers' retirement fund.
Meeting: Quarterly on 3rd Tuesday of Feb., May, Aug. and Nov. Civil Service Department

PUBLIC EMPLOYEE RELATIONS COMMISSION
Maintains annual registration of employee organizations (unions) and oversees the collective bargaining process between the City and any properly-recognized employee unions.

UTILITY COMMITTEE
Advisory to Mayor & City Commission and responsible for the review of Lakeland Electric financial and operational reports, fuel cost recovery, rate structures, contracts, programs and departmental initiatives.

ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT AND APPEALS
Hears and decides appeals for variances from the literal enforcement of the
terms of the Zoning Code.
