The American Advertising Awards will take place starting at 6 p.m. on Friday, February 24th at the Lakeland Center. The fun-filled event’s theme this year is the Grande Ole Addy’s. Sikes Hall will be transformed into the Grand Ole Opry as the community celebrates the announcement of the 2017 American Advertising Awards competition winners and the 2017 Silver Medal Award will be presented.
The Silver Medal Award was established in 1959 by the American Advertising Federation to recognize men and women who have made outstanding contributions to advertising and who have been active in furthering the industry’s standards, creative excellence and responsibility in areas of social concern.
The Grand Ole Addy’s will include live country music performances, a moonshine tasting station and awesome food. The dress is formal country.
The cost is $75 for Ad Fed members and $100 for non-members. Advance reservations are a must. E-Mail IPAF@polkadfed.com or call (863) 858-3736 to reserve tickets.
The reservation deadline is Friday February 17th. NO Tickets will be sold at the door.
The Grand Ole Addy’s is not just for those in the advertising field. The public is invited to attend, especially those that want to mingle with creatives, enjoy good food and love to have a good time.

“The Grand Ole Opry, to a country singer, is what Yankee Stadium is to a baseball player. Broadway to an actor. It’s the top of the ladder, the top of the mountain. You don’t just play the Opry; you live it.”
