LAKELAND, FL (November 19, 2015) - The City of Lakeland's Water Utilities Department is continuing work to replace a section of a water main in the area of Mershon Street.  Mershon Street, between South Wabash Avenue and Edwards Street, will be under a 24 hour a day road closure through Friday, November 27. Detours will be clearly marked. Please use caution when driving near the area and allow extra drive time.

LAKELAND, FL (January 26, 2015) - The Phase I Construction of the Lake Hollingsworth Roundabout is beginning with utility relocations starting January 26, 2015.   The construction work will require lane closures and routing of pedestrian and bicycle traffic through the construction area. 

Phase I work includes the utility relocations, construction of a new sidewalk around the north west corner of the intersection and relocation of the walk path on the lakeside. If possible, avoid the intersection of Lake Hollingsworth Drive and Hollingsworth Road until Phase I Construction is completed.  Please follow all detours and be patient when waiting for the lanes to  re-open.  Watch for construction equipment and Phase I construction is scheduled to be completed by the end of March.

Kentucky Ave Crossing To Close Jan 29 & 30th.

CSX Railroad has scheduled the replacement of rails at the Kentucky Ave Crossing on January 29 & 30. 

Pedestrians and vehicular traffic are encouraged use the Tennessee or Massachusetts Ave crossings.


Dallas 1 Construction will be performing roadway construction activities at the intersection of Griffin Road at Mall Hill Drive.  This will involve the closure of Mall Hill Drive at Griffin Road.  On Mall Hill Drive, the construction will include new turn lanes as well as a constructing a new concrete traffic separator in front of the new Lakeland Toyota building.  The new lane configuration of Mall Hill Road will consist of a newly constructed left-turn lane and a right-turn lane onto Griffin Road as well as a Northbound center through-lane.  There will also be updated curb ramps at the Southwest and Southeast corners of the intersection.  


The road closure and construction activities are anticipated to begin on June 27th and last approximately three weeks.
