Public Meeting Notice: Robson Street Sidewalk,
Drainage and Roadway Resurfacing Project

The City of Lakeland will conduct a Public Meeting on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm for the Robson Street Sidewalk Project. This project includes the construction of a 6 foot sidewalk along the north side of Robson Street between Pyramid Parkway and N Florida Avenue. The improvements also include adding pipes and drainage structures. The meeting will be held at the North Lakeland Elementary School of Choice cafeteria located at 410 Robson Street, Lakeland, Florida 33805.

The meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. as an open-house. City staff and representatives from the project team will be available to discuss the project, receive input, and answer questions. Display boards depicting project concepts will be available throughout the meeting.

The public meeting is being conducted to present the 60% design plans for the Robson Street Sidewalk and to obtain input from elected and appointed officials, property owners/tenants, business owners/operators, and other interested parties. 
Public participation is solicited without regard to race, color, religion, sex, age, national origin, handicap, or family status. Anyone requiring special accommodations pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 or persons that require translation services (free of charge) at the meeting should contact Mrs. Frances Halbert at frances.halbert@lakelandgov.net at least seven (7) days prior to the meeting.

Hancock Street Sidewalk

City of Lakeland crews will be constructing a new sidewalk along the South side of Hancock Street from Lincoln Ave to New York Ave. New sidewalk will also be constructed on the East side of Lincoln Ave from Hancock Street to Park Street. Every effort will be made to alleviate inconveniences however temporary delays can be expected. During construction some driveway aprons will need to be reconstructed to meet standards. We will make every effort to make contact with the property owners that will be affected to schedule the best time for the removal and replacement of their driveway aprons. The City of Lakeland appreciates your patience as we work to enhance pedestrian mobility in your neighborhood.

 

Horney Park Drainage.

For the next several weeks City Crews will be up- grading the storm drain system in Horney Park and along the North side of E. Hibiscus Dr. No major delays are expected although construction equipment and vehicles will cause some congestion.

 

Cleveland Heights ADA ramp.

Contractors working for City of Lakeland will be repairing and replacing handicap ramps as part of the future resurfacing of Cleveland Heights Bl from E Edgewood to Westover St. Roads will remain open however; lane closures will occur. Work is expected to take 4 weeks to complete.

 


Beginning Monday, June 9th Public Works construction crews will be installing new sidewalk on Frank Lloyd Wright Way between Ingraham Ave and Park Hill Ave. Frank Lloyd Wright Way will be closed to through traffic Mondays thru Thursdays 7am to 5pm. Detours will be clearly marked.

HOLLINGSWORTH ROAD SIDEWALK 

 
LAKELAND, FL (April 28, 2014) - The City of Lakeland has scheduled a Public Information Workshop regarding a proposed sidewalk along the east side of Hollingsworth Road from Bartow Road (US 98) to Lake Hollingsworth Drive.  The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located at 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801.  Please enter through the glass doors from the south parking lot, east of the sanctuary.

The meeting will be conducted in an open-house format from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
  During the workshop, City staff and representatives from the study team will be available to discuss the project, receive input, and answer questions. Display boards depicting the project concepts will be available throughout the meeting.
