Complete Application The City of Lakeland only accepts applications for positions that are currently posted. A separate City application form is not required for each position you wish to apply for. One application may be used to apply for several positions.
Please be sure to read the qualifications associated with the position you wish to apply for. Your application will be reviewed to determine if minimum qualifications specified in the job description are met. Your resume will not substitute for information that has been omitted on the application. Some positions require the submission of supporting documents such as a resume, transcripts and certifications in addition to the employment application. These documents may be uploaded when completing the application or may be submitted via email to civilservice@lakelandgov.net.

Please call the Civil Service Office at 863-834-8799 or 863-834-8793 to apply for another position and/or to update the application already on file. Updating the application includes any change that has occurred in regards to employment history, address, phone number, education and training as well as criminal history. Background checks will be conducted on all City of Lakeland new hires. Omitting criminal history information may result in being rejected for employment consideration.
