Application
One of the following documents must be submitted with application:
College Transcripts showing a minimum of 30 academic credits
Proof of Military Service (DD214, etc)
Proof of employment with a Law Enforcement agency with 200+ Sworn Officers (experience must be on the road as a Law Enforcement Officer)
Copies of the following documents must be submitted with application:
Birth Certificate
Driver’s License
High School Diploma
Florida Police Officer Certification (Police Academy)
Florida Officer Certification Examination Score Report indicating an overall passing score Lakeland Police Department Pre-Screen Questionnaire and Affidavit

Training
Polk Community College is the designated Police Academy for all law enforcement agencies in Polk County. The curriculum includes approximately 18 weeks of instruction.
