Police Officer
Application One of the following documents must be submitted with application: College Transcripts showing a minimum of 30 academic credits Proof of Military Service (DD214, etc) Proof of employment with a Law Enforcement agency with 200+ Sworn Officers (experience must be on the road as a Law Enforcement Officer)
Copies of the following documents must be submitted with application: Birth Certificate Driver’s License High School Diploma Florida Police Officer Certification (Police Academy) Florida Officer Certification Examination Score Report indicating an overall passing score Lakeland Police Department Pre-Screen Questionnaire Police Affidavit
Testing Procedure Applicants must take and pass the Civil Service written test. Upon passing the Civil Service test a Physical Abilities Test will be given at the Police Training Center located at 3030 East Lake Parker, Lakeland. Applicants should wear proper clothing and shoes for the test. Test is administered on a pass/fail basis.

Training Polk Community College is the designated Police Academy for all law enforcement agencies in Polk County. The curriculum includes approximately 18 weeks of instruction.
