Help for Public Service Agencies

The City of Lakeland awards approximately $160,000 annually to qualified nonprofit public service agencies and local government programs serving low to moderate income clients in the following categories:

  • Child Care
  • Drug Abuse Counseling/Treatment
  • Education Program
  • Fair Housing Counseling
  • Health Care
  • Homeless Citizens Service
  • Public Safety Service
  • Recreation Program
  • Senior Citizens Service
  • Special Needs

To qualify for funding, an agency must be tax exempt 501(c)(3).

Public Service Grants 2018-2019

Applications for funding are now available to nonprofit organizations seeking to provide public service activities in the City of Lakeland.  The 2018-2019 program year for Community Service agencies has been combined into one annual cycle.  Both federal CDBG and local general funds are available from October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019.

King, Jr. Avenue, Lakeland, FL  33805.  Completed applications must be received in the Affordable Housing Office by 4:00 p.m. Friday, March 30, 2018.  Late applications will not be accepted or considered for funding.
