Help for Contractors

Many of the programs and services offered by the Affordable Housing Office involve construction, both new and rehabilitation, which requires the procurement of qualified general contractors.

While the Affordable Housing Office works from a robust list of pre-qualified contractors, additional contractors are welcome.  Generally, a contractor must meet the following requirements and provide proof of same to the Affordable Housing Office.

  • City of Lakeland, Florida Building Inspection Division Certificate of Registration
  • State of Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation Construction Industry Licensing Board Certificate
  • Evidence that the Contractor has not been Debarred by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development
  • Liability Insurance with sufficient limits as determined by the Affordable Housing Office and Department of Risk Management & Purchasing
