The Lakeland Fire Department F.O.C.U.S. Scholarship Fund
The Fire Service Provides Opportunity

Many of the men and women that serve in the LFD today received an opportunity at a new life as a result of joining the fire service. LFD recognizes how important the chance at a new life filled with the stability can be to a homeless  or low-income student. So as a result the Fire-Service Opportunity and Career for Underprivileged Students Scholarship was developed in 2013 to provide the necessary training and support to become a certified firefighter, potentially leading to a career in the fire service for an underprivileged student in the Lakeland area.

A career as a firefighter provides stability, structure, a second family, and the ability to give back to the community in a very real and direct way. In addition to the stability and opportunity for personal growth a career as a firefighter can offer, the job also comes with ample opportunity to receive extensive professional development and educational degrees that in turn may lead to promotions and higher levels of pay. The Heroes Park Fund
Honoring Those who Serve and who have Served

Lakeland Veterans/Heroes Park Fund has many different Memorials to honor our Military, Fire and Police on a beautiful piece of property, located behind the R.P Funding center (formerly the Lakeland Center).

The Polk County Veterans Council seeks funds to keep this important park of history up and running, along with maintenance of the park and additions to the park. For more information about the park and the Polk County Veterans Council, click here.
