Crime Analysis and Intelligence Center

Crime Analysis is a set of systematic, analytical processes, which are directed at providing timely and pertinent information in reference to crime patterns and trends to assist department personnel in planning the deployment of resources. These resources are deployed to “hot spots” for the prevention and suppression of criminal activities. The Crime Analysis and Intelligence unit supports the Uniform Patrol Division, Special Operations Section, and Investigations.

The Crime Analysis unit is staffed by a sergeant, 1-3 civilian crime analysts and a sworn officer who is a gang specialist. They report to the Captain of the Investigations Bureau.

The unit also responds to requests for crime statistics from department personnel, community members and media outlets.
