- [2020/08/02; 8 AM] Tropical Storm Isaias Update:
As of 8 AM, a Hurricane Warning that was issued along the east coast of Florida has been replaced with a Tropical Storm Warning that's been extended northward along the coast to South Santee River, South Carolina. The storm is not anticipated to strengthen back into a hurricane at this time.
Forecasts show the storm making landfall between Charleston, South Carolina, and Myrtle Beach Monday overnight before continuing on to the Northeast. Isaias is still quite large, with no defined eyewall, and its outer bands are still producing strong storms.
Threats to the Lakeland area have diminished greatly, though there is a Lake Wind Advisory for Polk and Highlands Counties from 11 AM - 10 PM today. 10-20 mph winds with gusts up to 30 mph can be expected. Boaters on area lakes should use extra caution today.
