Operations Decisions Made

1. Effective immediately, the Farmers Curb Market is discontinuing Wednesday operations. The Saturday Market days will continue from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.  For about two years, we tried to make the Wednesday Market work, but we were not able to have enough customers to keep vendors happy and not enough vendors to keep customers happy. We feel that this is the right decision at this time to concentrate our efforts on continuing to make the Saturday operations successful! 2. Due to popular demand, the Farmers Curb Market will stay open in July! Last year, we closed for two months in the hottest part of the summer, but this year, we will close only in August. Vintage Saturdays at the Curb Market!

We will debut our new project, Vintage Saturdays at the Curb Market, on Saturday, May 5. The idea is to try to satisfy shoppers' desire for items with vintage style.  Going forward, we'll host Vintage Saturdays on the first Saturday of each month. Downtown stores have been invited to participate - either with a table at the Market, or on the sidewalk in front of their own stores - and local individuals who wish to be vendors for this special project will be welcomed. A special application/agreement has been developed for Vintage Saturdays vendors. Regular Market vendors are encouraged to add a vintage spin to the items they already sell or see the Market Manager about adding new appropriate items for these theme days. It is not designed to be a "garage sale"; rather, we expect to see antiques, refinished furniture, old decorative items, certain vintage textiles, and period collectibles. Location: At E. Pine St. & N. Kentucky Av. (200 N. Kentucky Av.) in Downtown Lakeland. Scan the map code at right or map it here.

Parking: Park on the streets (Pine, Tennessee, Kentucky), the lot on the north side of Munn Park (no coins necessary on Saturdays), or the Bay Street lot. Yellow ZoneParking (2 hour limit - areas designated by signs) applies on Wednesdays but not Saturdays. You may park in bank parking lots only on Saturdays when they are closed. Take time to visit other Downtown businesses while you are here!

Become a Vendor: We are always willing to consider new vendors! If you just want to be a vendor but don't know what you want to sell, we have several opportunities for the right persons that would require a minimal investment.

Our Purpose

The Downtown Farmers Curb Market is a key component of a vibrant, diverse and exciting Downtown. It is designed to serve and bring together all segments of our community. It is a positive force in bringing people Downtown to purchase fresh produce, plants and local crafts. The 50-week Market is a showcase for the talents and the work of local artisans and local growers. The Downtown Farmers Curb Market is a project of the Lakeland Downtown Development Authority (LDDA).
