Cottage Food Legislation and What It Means

by Becky Abel on Wednesday, August 17, 2011 8:52 AM

Here is a synopsis of the rules surrounding the new Cottage Food legislation in Florida that allows the sale of certain homemade food items at farmers markets.

Anyone who intends to become such a vendor at the Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market will be required to sign an affidavit that he/she has read and understood these rules, and will be expected to comply. In addition, under the heading "Insurance and Indemnification" in the Vendor Agreement, certain requirements of all food vendors are delineated that must be met. Prospective vendors can find all appropriate forms on our Be a Vendor page.
