Beginning September 1, 2016, the Lakeland Fire Department will no longer be issuing Burn Permits.  All Burn Authorizations will be issued by the Florida Forest Service.

Open Burning Application and Information

Open Burning: 

The Lakeland Fire Department requires permits for commercial land clearing, residential land clearing, and bonfires. Burning of trash or yard debris in the City of Lakeland is not allowed.

Applications must be submitted with associated fees (if applicable). Complete applications can be emailed directly to fsm@lakelandgov.net for quick and easy processing. Applications may also be submitted in person at Fire Safety Management offices located at 701 E Main Street, Lakeland, FL 33801If emailing your complete application, fees may be mailed or dropped off in person at FSM offices.
