Title: The
Tremont Hotel
Description: The
Tremont Hotel was built in 1885 by Lakeland pioneer
settler Abraham Munn at the corner of East Main Street and
Massachusetts Avenue, the present site of the Terrace Hotel.
It was reputed to have the first bathtubs in Lakeland. It was
enlarged and moved to an adjacent lot in 1911. Eclipsed by
larger and more elegant hotels, the Tremont was demolished
in 1936.
