RECORDS OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION BOARD OF LAKELAND 1991 - 2000 RG5580 SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE Chapter 8 of Ordinance No. 2203 established the framework for a comprehensive historic preservation program in the City of Lakeland. The board is composed of 9 - 11 members, appointed by the City Commission for three year terms. "As part of the historic preservation board there shall be a design review committee for each historic district consisting of five members of the board" who are responsible for approving any changes to a building or property in the district. The collection includes minutes of Board meetings and information about historic buildings and sites, and is arranged in two series.
