LAKELAND'S EARLY CHURCHES
FOSTER MEMORIAL AFRICAN METHODIST EPISCOPAL CHURCH
Foster AME(l)
Back
The Foster Memorial AME Church was located at 515 West Orange Street in the Moorehead neighborhood. It was built in 1913 to replace an earlier wooden structure on an adjacent lot. It was the third church built in the Moorehead neighborhood, following St. John's and Mt. Pleasant AME. It was razed along with the rest of Moorehead in the early 1970's to make way for the Lakeland Civic Center.
