| FLORIDA SOUTHERN COLLEGE (RG4500), 1922-2006
| | In 1938 then Florida Southern College president Lud Spivey invited renowned architect Frank Lloyd Wright to come to the Florida Southern College campus to build a "great education temple in Florida." Wright visited shortly thereafter and began developing a master plan for the campus. By the time of Spivey's retirement in 1957 and Wright's death two years later, Florida Southern College had become home to the single largest collection of Wright designed buildings in one location.
This series documents to some extent the influence of Wright on the design of the Florida Southern College campus. Incuded are brochures listing and describing the Wright designed buildings, journal and newspaper articles about Wright and his connection to Florida Southern, a National Register of Historic Places application, and audio cassettes of a speech Wright gave at Florida Southern in 1950.
