This series contains articles of clothing and equipment used by soldiers in Lakeland and a copy of the New Testament given to a soldier of the Second Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers by the Tampa Headquarters of the Army Christian Commission. Included are suede gauntlets and a mess kit used by Lutrelle Amrine of the first Ohio Volunteer Cavalry and a campaign hat and Bible of Herman Markert of the Second Regiment of Massachusetts Volunteers.
Pictured above is a company kitchen in one of the army camps in Lakeland in 1898.
