Series IV Personal Files, 1939-1998

The Personal Files Series (3 boxes, 1.25') contains materials which relate primarily to Richard Jones personal life. Jones was very active in the political and cultural life of Lakeland. As an architect by profession, he also had an interest in preserving the architectural heritage of the city. The former interests are documented in materials relating to his elections to the City Commission and his long involvement with the Lakeland Choral Society. His interest in preserving Lakeland architectural heritage is documented in his service on the Historic Preservation Board of Lakeland.

The types of records include correspondence, appointment books, programs, minutes of meetings, certificates, and reports. The records are arranged alphabetically by name, subject, or type of record and chronologically within folders.
