BEACON HILL-ALTA VISTA HISTORIC DISTRICT, RG2465, 1990-1991

Series I, Site Survey Forms

This series contains the site survey forms for the Beacon Hill/Alta vista Historic District for each of the more than eighty structures in the district constructed before 1945. The forms include the following information for each structure: the address, the architectural style of the structure (e.g. bungalow, frame vernacular, colonial revival, etc.), the approximate date of construction, the name of the architect/builder if known, a map of the district indicating the specific location of the structure, the name of the then current owner, and a brief narrative description of the structure.

The latter is particularly useful because it provides a wealth of additional information about the structure described. It includes a detailed description of the architectural style of the structure, notes any significant alterations to it, and lists previous owners, their occupations, and the dates they occupied the structure.

The site survey forms are arranged numerically by the number assigned to them by the survey team. There is a street index at the beginning of the series which links the number of the site survey form to a specific address. A copy of the structural resources survey report is at the end of the series.
