RICHARD P. JONES PAPERS (RG04-1), 1939-1998

Series I, Commercial Projects, 1950-1986

The Commercial Projects Series (15 boxes, 7.5') documents the more than 150 commercial, educational, and religious structures in Lakeland and nearby communities designed by Richard P. Jones. The projects included new structures, as well as additions to, and renovations of, existing structures. The designs ranged in size from small stores to large churches, schools, office buildings, and warehouses. Among Jones' designs were several Polk County schools, churches in Lakeland, Clermont, Fort Meade, and Zephyrhills, and the City of Lakeland's North Side Fire Station.

The types of records include correspondence, reports, proposals, contracts, drawings, sketches, invoices, material lists, spread sheets, and photographs. The architectural plans and drawings for many of these commercial structures are included in Series V, Plans/Drawings.

The records in this series are arranged alphabetically by the name of the client or structure and chronologically within folders.

The complete folder title list is available in the Special Collections unit.
