CHRYSSIE TAVRIDES COLLECTION, RG5150, 1943-1989

Scope and Content Note

Portrait artist and illustrator Chryssie Bilder Tavrides was born in Chicago, Illinois and attended several art schools.  She has illustrated books and film strips, and has had one woman shows, joint invitational shows,  juried exhibitions.  She also lectured in art classes and served as a judge at art shows.  Tavrides has permanent collections in the Polk Museum of Art, Lakeland Regional Medical Center, and in several Florida cities. She also designed the 1984 Mayfaire-by-the-Lake poster, which was recognized with an award of excellence by the Georgia Pacific Company. 

The collection consists of brochures, correspondence, newspaper articles, resumes and filmstrips.  It is housed in a single archive box and one oversize box.
