Scope and Content Note

The Ethel Gardner Papers were donated to the Special Collections of the Lakeland Public Library in two accessions in 1990. The papers were in good condition and no particular order when received.

The collection consists primarily of the published and unpublished writings of Lake Wales author Ethel Gardner. Included are galley proofs, illustrations, and paste-ups of one her books, copies of articles, unpublished compilations of her observations and inspirational thoughts, and unpublished poems. These records constitute Series II, Writings.

Also included are correspondence, a fellowship application, copies of a literary magazine to which she submitted poems, and newspaper clippings. These records comprise Series I, Subject Files.

The collection comprises 1 linear foot.
