Series I, Subject Files, 1946-2003
The records in this series document the administrative and program activities of the Lakeland branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) over a nearly 60 year period. The types of records include agenda and minutes of board and general membership meetings, annual reports, articles of incorporation and by-laws, brochures and pamphlets, correspondence, membership directories for the state AAUW, membership records for the local branch, photographs, national AAUW publications, and branch yearbooks.
The agenda and minutes and annual reports provide a comprehensive overview of the activities of the Lakeland branch of the AAUW and document its decline in the 1990's. The membership records and yearbooks provide a view of the diverse membership of the organization and the rise and fall in the number of members at different periods in the life of the branch.
The records in this series occupy 3 linear feet (6 boxes) and are arranged alphabetically by name, subject, or type of record and chronologically by date within folders. Membership cards are housed in a negative box at the end of the series.
A complete folder title list is available in Special Collections.
