Attempt to Identify - Grand Theft Suspect

    

On Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at approximately 11:00 p.m., unknown suspects took recycled cardboard bales from the rear of the Walmart store; 5800 US Hwy 98 N. Video shows that two vehicles approached the rear of the store and an unknown number of suspects loaded the bales onto the trucks.

One vehicle was a Ryder truck with a flatbed trailer, and a green Bobcat on the trailer. The second vehicle was a semi truck with a flatbed trailer.

Attempt to Identify - Grand Theft Suspect

            

On Saturday, September 28, 2013 at approximately 4:00 p.m., Lakeland Police responded to the J C Penney, 3800 Hwy 98 N in reference to a grand theft. Upon arrival, officers made contact with a loss prevention officer who stated the suspect was dropped off at the men's entrance and entered the shoe department. He stated the suspect removed some shoes from their boxes and concealed the merchandise in several JC Penney shopping bags. The suspect then exited through the catalog entrance with the shoes. The suspect did this twice. The suspect then fled in the suspect vehicle.

The suspect is described as a black female, 30 to 40 years old, wearing a soccer jersey with the number 8 on the back, shorts and a baseball cap.

The suspect vehicle is a black compact vehicle.

$3,000 Crime Stoppers Reward

Crime stoppers has authorized a reward of $3,000.00 for information leading to the identity and arrest of individuals involved in the murder of Ricky Wright, excluding Steven Foster, who has turned himself in.

 


Warrant Issued for Homicide Suspect

Lakeland Police are actively looking for Steven “Prince” Foster in connection with the murder of Ricky Wright on October 10, 2013. A warrant has been issued for his arrest for First Degree Murder. Anyone with information on the location of Steven Foster is asked to contact the Lakeland Police Detective Russell Hurley 863-834-8973 or Detective Brian Wallace at 863-834-8968.

On October 10, 2013at approximately 11:30 pm, officers responded to 808 West Whitehurst Street where they discovered a 16 year old black male juvenile (later identified as Ricky Wright, DOB 7/7/97) had been shot.  Wright was transported to LRMC where he later died as a result of the injuries sustained from the shooting.

Witnesses interviewed at the scene stated a blue or gray vehicle pulled up to the residence and fired shots from the vehicle at the victim who was in the yard at 808 West Whitehurst Street. According to witnesses, there was more than one person in the vehicle. The vehicle then fled the area. At this time the suspect of the shooting has not been identified, but detectives are pursuing leads at this time.
