On Friday, January 24, 2014 ten officers were sworn in as members of the Lakeland Police Department at a 3:00 p.m. ceremony. The ceremony was held at the First United Methodist Church, 72 Lake Morton Drive in Lakeland.

The recruits have now completed the seven-week Mini Academy, and will begin the next phase of their training as Lakeland Police officers.
