Detroit Tigers Spring Training Begins Again

Lakeland Police want to remind residents that as the Detroit Tigers Spring Training Season begins they will need to expect an impact to traffic. On Thursday, February 27, 2014 and extending through the end of March the Detroit Tigers will hold Spring Training home games at Joker Marchant Stadium.  All homes games will begin at 1:05 p.m. and the public should expect traffic delays on Lakeland Hills Boulevard in the area of Tiger Town from 11:00 a.m. to approximately 5:00 p.m. For those not attending a game, we request the use of Florida Avenue as an alternate route.  Those traveling on Lakeland Hills Boulevard are requested to be mindful of pedestrian traffic attempting to cross the street.

PARKING:

If you are coming to a game and arrive from the south, all traffic should turn right/east onto Bella Vista and enter the parking area off of Gilmore Avenue or Lake Avenue.  If you are coming to a game and arrive from the north, all traffic should turn left/east onto Granada Street and follow signs for parking.  The main entrance, Al Kaline Drive, will remain open before and during the games for traffic.

EXIT PATTERNS:

In order to facilitate a timely exit, right turn only out of Al Kaline will be permitted.  All Granada Street traffic will either turn north on Lakeland Hills or east towards West Lake Parker Drive.  All Bella Vista Street traffic will go east towards West Lake Parker Drive, south on Lakeland Hills Boulevard or cross over to Florida Avenue.  Traffic in this area can expect delays from about 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
