Bomb Threat Received at Lakeland Highlands Middle School
Lakeland Police are on scene at Lakeland Highlands Middle School, 740 Lake Miriam Drive, in reference to a bomb threat. At approximately 10:00 a.m., SRO Wesley was informed that a handwritten note had been found in a boys bathroom in the 6th grade wing. At that time, an immediate evacuation of the school was called for.
The school has been cleared and all students have been returned to the school. If parents want to pick their student up, they will be allowed to do so through the normal process.
Police are actively investigating this incident and will make charges if appropriate.
