Active Shooter Awareness Seminar
PREPARE – PREVENT – REACT
If you missed the first Active Shooter Awareness Seminar, a second seminar is being held on August 26, 2014.
During the months of April and May, the Lakeland Police Department conducted active shooter training with the members of the police department. To assist the City of Lakeland to prepare, prevent, and react to an active shooter scenario, the Lakeland Police Department is conducting a FREE Active Shooter Awareness seminar August 26, 2014 from 10:00 - 12:00 in the Youkey Theatre at the Lakeland Center. Registration/check-in the day of the event will begin at 9:00 am.
This event is open to the schools, businesses, and hospitals located within the city limits of Lakeland. We would prefer companies to pre-register at www.lakelandgov.net/lpd or with the Lakeland Area Chamber of Commerce under the tab; Calendar of Events for August 26th.
If there are still seats available, the seminar will be opened up to schools, businesses, and hospitals located in unincorporated Lakeland with the same registration process. The only requirement for registration/check-in will be to provide credentials of employment and a current ID.
• Open to anyone interested in learning how to prepare, prevent and react to an active shooter situation.
• Business owners, schools administrators, government officials and medical care administrators are encouraged to send representatives for this valuable training.
