On Saturday, December 7, 2013, LPD will face off against LFD in the 2nd Annual Charity Basketball Event sponsored by Let’s Move Health & Fitness. The game will begin at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeland High School and will benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Tickets are $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for children (children 10 and under are free).

In addition to the half-time game and prizes for the children, Lakeland Police Department will be giving away two bicycles.

LPD defending champions are hoping for a repeat this year!

On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 around 6:00 p.m., two females entered the Walmart, 5800 US Hwy 98 N and each made a return at the service counter. The pair then went through the store, selected items, placed them in plastic totes, and excited the Garden Center without paying for them. The value of the items taken was $1,114.68.

The suspects got into a black SUV and left.
