| Fuel Charge DECREASE Effective September 4, 2007 |
|
A fuel adjustment decrease for Lakeland Electric residential and business customers will go into effect beginning September 4th.
This decrease will lower the residential fuel charge by $3.00 per 1,000 kwh. The cut in the fuel charge reflects the current market trend in natural gas prices that the utility uses to power its generators. About 60% of Lakeland Electric's fuel mix is natural gas.
Like all Florida utilities, Lakeland Electric only passes along the cost of fuel and purchased power to customers. It does not make a profit on these costs.
As in the past, when fuel prices go below the amount calculated in the electric service rate, those savings will be passed along to utility customers. |
