Jr Lifeguard Program Offered This Summer |
LAKELAND, FL (May 22, 2009) The City of Lakeland Parks and Recreation Departments Jr. Lifeguard program will be available this summer at the Simpson Pool providing an opportunity for teens to experience fun in the sun while learning important skills for their future.
All strong swimmers ages 10-16 are encouraged to challenge themselves in a fun atmosphere while learning life saving skills. Participants must be able to complete a 100 yard swim in 3 minutes, a 10 yard underwater swim and tread water for 2 minutes. Classes run from June 8-19 from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m AND July 6-17 11am-2pm daily at Simpson Pool. One day will include a special field trip.
