T. Mims Corp./Buyer’s Rep. Inc. Red, White & Kaboom will take place on
Friday, July 3rd at Lakeland’s Lake Mirror Park
The City of Lakeland is pleased to announce that Red, White & Kaboom is back on schedule due to the recently acquired sponsorship from T. Mims Corp./Buyer’s Rep. Inc.
Red, White & Kaboom will take place around the Lake Mirror Promenade on Friday, July 3rd from 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The evening’s entertainment will include the pop/rock sounds of the popular local band, MillHopper. The band will play three sets of music ending at 9:00 p.m. to a breathtaking display of fireworks over Lake Mirror. As part of this year’s celebration, we are asking for a canned food item from everyone who attends the free event. There will be several locations throughout Lake Mirror Park that will be accepting the canned food donations.
There will be a variety of food and drink vendors around Lake Mirror so bring a blanket and enjoy the live music and a dramatic display of fireworks over the lake. All City parking garages will be open.
The celebration continues on Saturday, July 4, at the Joker Marchant Stadium. There will be a dazzling display of fireworks around 9:00 p.m. following the Lakeland Flying Tigers vs. the Tampa Bay Yankees baseball game.
Tom Mims, President of T. Mims Corporation and Buyer’s Rep. Inc. said, “I am pleased to resurrect this great family event that signifies exactly what our community is all about.” He added, “I heard that the event may not happen and I met with City officials to bring this great event back to life that allows families to celebrate our Nation’s founding. This is a fun, free event for people during these tough economic times. We are glad to be a part of this celebration."
