Kryger Park was made possible through a generous donation from his widow Lynn Fischer-Kryger and the Kryger family as a tribute to Dr. Allen Kryger.
Dr. Allen Kryger was a scientist and local businessman who specialized in the manufacture of citrus flavoring. He was born in Chicago and attended Notre Dame. He later received a doctorate of organic chemistry from Iowa State University. Kryger founded three Lakeland companies that specialized in citrus extracts and flavorings. He was an active community volunteer, philanthropist and a dedicated family man.
Please join the City of Lakeland and the Kryger family in celebrating the opening of Kryger Park. The public is invited to enjoy a brilliant fireworks display and the smooth sounds of jazz as Kryger Park is introduced to the community during this family friendly dedication.
