CITY OF LAKELAND TO START PHASE II OF THE LIME STREET TWO-WAY CONVERSION PROJECT
LAKELAND, FL (July 28, 2008) -- Beginning August 4, 2008 Public Works Construction and Maintenance will start on Phase II of the Lime Street two-way conversation project. Phase II of the Lime Street two-way conversion project is divided into three segments and each segment will take about eight weeks to complete. The entire project is expected to be completed within six months.

The first segment of the project will close Lime Street from Tennessee Avenue to South Florida Avenue and the outside north bound lane on South Florida Avenue at Lime Street will also be affected. The project will include new streetscape sidewalks, antique street lights, landscaping, brick crosswalks, roadway resurfacing, traffic signal modifications, new pavement markings and intersection improvements. Temporary road closures and traffic detours will be implemented during construction. Starting August 4th traffic can expect delays in this area during the next six months.
