FAQs

Is alcohol permitted?
Yes, but please no glass bottles.

What happens if it rains?
There is an outside event that will go on, rain or shine!

Are City parking garages open?
Yes. You can view our Downtown Parking Brochure for more info.

May I bring a tent/umbrella?
Tents or umbrellas staked in the ground are not permitted.

Are there restrooms? Are they ADA accessible?
Yes, there will be restroom stations throughout the event, and ADA accessible restrooms will be available at all stations.

Will there be street closures downtown?
Main Street between Massachusetts Avenue and E Rose Street will be closed from 7:30-9 pm.  N Tennessee Avenue and N Kentucky Avenue at Munn Park will also be closed for a food truck rally beginning at 3 pm.

Will there be food?
There are 10 food vendors that will be set up around Lake Mirror.

Is Red, White & Kaboom free?
Yes, RWK is a FREE event. Everyone is encouraged to bring one canned food item for VISTE.

Is RWK a family-friendly event?
Yes! And kids are invited to sign up for the Watermelon Eatin’ contest! (Signups are first-come, first-served and will be open at 6 pm near the stage).

How long has Red, White & Kaboom been happening?
Since 2004.

Why is Red, White & Kaboom scheduled for July 3rd?
Publix Field at Joker Marchant does fireworks on the 4th following the Lakeland Flying Tigers Baseball game on July 4th. We figure there is nothing wrong with celebrating our nation twice!

Are pets allowed?
Yes, pets on leashes are allowed. Just remember some pets are sensitive to loud noises and may not enjoy the fireworks.

May I bring food?
Yes, you may bring your own food, but grills are not permitted.

When does the event start/end?
Red, White & Kaboom takes place from 6-9pm; fireworks start at 9 pm.

Who is performing?
Jah Movement Reggae Band will be performing.
