Police Chief Larry Giddens, “A few years ago we had a noticeable uptick in gang related activity. I’m proud to say our multi-pronged approach that includes prevention, intervention and suppression elements have helped us reduce the number of gang related crimes over the past few years.”  He added, “We are exceptionally blessed to have passionate people who truly care about the community come together as a unified team to share our prevention and intervention message. Our hats go off to Mike Cooper and the Dream Center for their continued assistance in overseeing our neighborhood outreach events.”

Members from the City Commission, City Manager’s Office, Lakeland Police Department, Lakeland Fire Department, Parks & Recreation, Public Works, Community Development and Communications will be part of the volunteer base assisting in the neighborhood outreach.
