Camp Blast Collects Donations for Senior Orphans

Camp Blast Collects Donations for Senior Orphans

The City of Lakeland Parks & Recreation Department's summer enrichment program, "Camp Blast," collected more than 3500 items for the Senior Orphans of Polk County!

Camp Blast is a day camp operated out of five Polk County Public Schools and the Simpson Park Community center providing a fun supervised environment for elementary school-aged children in our community.  Participants spend their summer skating, swimming, and engaging with their fellow campers. This summer, Camp Blast also created a project collecting donations for the Senior Orphans of Polk County. Campers collected various personal hygiene items, pantry stable food items, and cleaning supplies. Senior Orphans of Polk County is a volunteer-driven organization providing essential items to senior throughout Polk County living on $600 or less each month.
