Brick Crosswalk Install Will Impact West Lake Parker Drive & East Garden Street Intersection
LAKELAND, FL (July 3, 2019) | On July 8th, City of Lakeland crews will begin installing a 12-foot-wide brick pedestrian crosswalk at the intersection of East Garden Street and West Lake Parker Drive. West Lake Parker Drive will be closed at the intersection of East Garden Street for approximately one week while this project is completed. Signage warning motorist about the project and clearly visible detour signage will be in place for the duration of the project. Mike Whigham, Manager of Construction and Maintenance said, “The brick cross walk is being constructed so pedestrians can easily travel across West Lake Parker Drive from the new Garden Street Sidewalk. The brick crosswalk will be more visible to drivers and this will provide a safer way to cross the street.” The suggested detour for vehicles is to use Memorial Boulevard to Lakeland Hills Boulevard to Parkview Place for traffic signalization purposes.
