The City of Lakeland has scheduled a Public Information Workshop regarding a proposed sidewalk along the east side of Hollingsworth Road from Bartow Road (US 98) to Lake Hollingsworth Drive. The meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church located at 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, Florida 33801. Please enter through the glass doors from the south parking lot, east of the sanctuary.
The public information workshop is being conducted to present the project concepts; obtain input from elected and appointed officials, property owners/tenants, business owners/operators, and other interested parties.
The City of Lakeland has scheduled a final Public Meeting regarding the Beacon Road Multi-use Corridor Study. The meeting will be held on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the regularly scheduled City Commission Meeting which begins at 9:00 a.m. at Lakeland City Hall, 228 S. Massachusetts Avenue, Lakeland, Florida 33801, 3rd Floor, City Commission Chambers.
An audio/visual presentation of the project concepts and the final project recommendation will be presented to the City Commission during their regularly scheduled meeting. The study was conducted to evaluate potential options that include an extension of Beacon Road, a multi-use trail / greenway, a utility corridor, or a combination of these options. The limits of the study are from the proposed Wabash Avenue Extension to Harden Boulevard, a distance of approximately one (1) mile. The public meeting is being conducted to present the results of the corridor feasibility study and to obtain concurrence from the City Commission.
