Lake Bonny - Lakeside Displays
Thank you to LE/AD for their continued efforts and dedication toward preserving and protecting our water resources.

The Lakeside educational displays implemented through a LE/AD activity are located on the east side of the lake at Lake Bonny Park along the bicycle/walking path.

Displays Lk Bonny Dedication 2002
A dedication for the signs was held August 16, 2002. Community citizens, LE/AD board members (Dr. Bud Othoson and David Hafer), City Lakes and Stormwater
staff members (Johnna Martinez and Karen Vallar),
Southwest Florida Water Management District (John Walkinshaw), Charlotte Harbor National Estuary Program (Christina Hummel), and the Ledger were present.

The installation of the displays at Lake Bonny Park brings
the total of 16 lakes within Polk County
having lakeside displays!



The following are the titles and descriptions of the lakeside displays:

Lake Bonny and the Peace River
This display shows Lake Bonny's relationship within the Peace River Watershed. The Peace River Watershed flows into the Charlotte Harbor Estuary which then flows into the Gulf of Mexico.

Stormwater Runoff
Find out how a retention pond helps protect Lake Bonny from the water pollution of stormwater runoff.

Native Aquatic Plants
Specific plant species and their beneficial uses for protecting and enhancing our water resources and environment.
