    Diagnostic Study
A diagnostic study has been completed to evaluate the existing lake conditions. The study identified sources of pollution, model management options, and provided recommendations on how to improve water quality and wildlife resources. The Lakes & Stormwater Division is currently assessing each option.

Lake Morton Shoreline Restoration Master Plan
A shoreline stabilization system is being planned for the entire Lake Morton lakeshore. Historically, Lake Morton has experienced chronic shoreline exposure and erosion which was caused by a lack of vegetation and the heavy concentration of waterfowl that traverse the bank and uproot what little vegetation is present. In the past, this problem has been addressed by bringing in fill material and rebuilding the eroded areas. This approach provided only temporary relief and has long term adverse impacts on the lake. The system will be designed to arrest the chronic erosion while maintaining an appropriate aesthetic and functional lakefront for this lake. Construction activities are projected to commence in Winter 2005.
