| Go Wireless with our Surf Lakeland Downtown Hotspot! |
|
Basic Configuration Guide
Have a nice lunch along Kentucky Avenue, stroll through the Lemon Street Promenade, or relax in Munn Park. Bring along your laptop with an 802.11b Wi-Fi card or your Wi-Fi equipped PDA, and browse the Internet for FREE with our downtown Internet hotspot! Getting connected to our downtown hotspot is simple. In fact, on newer devices (like laptops with Windows XP or PDAs with PocketPC 2003) little configuration is required. Once you have gone through this simple configuration, open your Internet Explorer (or other browser) and you'll be on your way!
You will need the following information to use the Surf Lakeland Hotspot: SSID (Network Name): surflakeland Security and/or Encryption: disabled Network Type: Infrastructure or Access Point
Windows XP and Windows 2000 will allow you to make these changes with no additional software. If you are using any other operating system, such as Windows 9x, Me, 2000, or NT, you will need to use the configuration program that came with your wireless card.
