Water Distribution maintains over 3000 fire hydrants.
The fire hydrants located throughout Lakeland are installed and maintained by Water Distribution. The hydrant bodies are yellow to promote high visibility while the tops are various colors indicating the size main the hydrant is attached to.
Occassionally hydrants are "flowed" (Illustrated in the picture) by Distribution personel or the Fire Department. |
