Designed by noted New York architect Charles Leavitt, the Frances Langford Promenade at Lake Mirror was dedicated on July 4, 1928 and has become an iconic structure in the city. The Promenade's neo-classical architecture with all of the striking columns and graceful arches draw citizens and visitors alike, and it was the first public structure in Lakeland to be named to the National Register of Historic Places.
