In celebration of Black History Month 2019, Lakeland Public Library staff members Danielle Daniels and Amanda Ballard, who work at the elibrary South Lakeland location, created a periodic table of black history. The inspiration for the design is the Periodic Table of Elements and a desire to encourage conversation about the contributions of African-Americans in our nation.
Due to the overwhelming response that we received on social media we decided to make our files available for download free of charge. We recognize that there is a need to see broader representation of African-American contributions year-round and we hope that you will use this template as a starting point. Please redesign and edit the table as you see fit to continue the conversation. Feel free to tag us on social media with your creations (Facebook: @lakelandpubliclibrary, Instagram: lakelandpubliclibrary, Twitter: @lakelandpublib), and thank you for sharing.
